When using refractory bricks for masonry in rotary kilns, these issues need to be noted

The lifespan of Huaxu refractory rotary kiln is closely related to the quality of refractory materials. The masonry of rotary kiln also affects the lifespan of the kiln. Huaxu refractory materials must strictly follow the masonry specifications when building rotary kilns. So, what should be paid attention to when building rotary kilns?

1. Construction preparation: Ensure that the cellar skin on the brick lining is clean, and clean the construction tools to avoid impurities mixing in.

2. Brick lining fixation: Use screws and square wood to tighten the brick lining in both horizontal and vertical directions; After determining the parts that need to be replaced, use screws and wooden blocks to tighten the remaining parts.

3. Old brick removal: When removing old bricks from grooves, it is necessary to ensure that the brick lining does not slide. After removal, use small steel plates to weld onto the cylinder to further stabilize the brick lining.

4. It is strictly prohibited to operate masonry without laying lines: During masonry, regardless of the type of masonry method used, it is necessary to strictly follow the reference line and strictly prohibit laying without laying lines.

The setting of the baseline includes placing a line every 1.5m around the circumference of the cellar and a line every 10m around the circumference, all of which should be parallel to the axis of the cellar.

5. Bricklaying requirements: The brick lining should be tightly attached to the cellar shell, the bricks should be tightly pressed against each other, the brick joints should be straight, the intersection should be accurate, the lock bricks should be firm, not misplaced, not sagging, and not hollow. In short, it is necessary to ensure reliable concentricity between the refractory bricks and the cellar during the operation of the cellar, and the stress of the brick lining should be evenly distributed throughout the entire cellar lining and each brick.

6. Masonry methods: Bricklaying methods can be divided into two categories: ring masonry and staggered masonry. For new cellars and cylindrical structures that are well-organized, intact, and not severely deformed, the ring masonry method is generally used; Traditional cellars with severe deformation of the cylinder and poor appearance quality of the bricks used can adopt staggered masonry method in the areas of high alumina bricks and clay bricks.

7. Dimensional accuracy: During ring masonry, a deviation of 2mm per meter is allowed for the ring joint, and a maximum length of 8mm is allowed for one construction section. When staggered, a longitudinal deviation of 2mm is allowed per meter, but the maximum allowable length of the entire ring is 10mm.

8. Last brick masonry: Except for the last circle, the last brick of each circle should be pushed from one side of the brick lining (in the direction of the rotary kiln axis) to complete the entire circle masonry. Pay attention to adjusting the brick shape and try not to use it together. The width of the joint steel plate for dry masonry should be about 10mm smaller than the width of the brick, generally 1-1.2mm. The steel plate should not exceed the edge of the brick to avoid sounding and bridging phenomena.

9. After completion treatment: After the refractory brick masonry is completed, all lining bricks should be thoroughly cleaned and tightened. After tightening, they should not be transferred to the cellar. They should be ignited in a timely manner and baked according to the drying curve.

The above are the points to pay attention to when laying refractory bricks in rotary kilns. Only by strictly following the masonry specifications can the quality of the project be guaranteed and the service life of the rotary kiln be guaranteed.
