When it comes to refractory materials, many people may find them unfamiliar.
Refractory materials are essential basic materials for high-temperature technology industries, mainly used in the fields of refractory insulation and insulation for kiln linings and facilities in industries such as metallurgy, petrochemicals, non-ferrous metals, building materials, mechanical manufacturing, ceramics, etc.
For many years, relying on the reserves and quality advantages of refractory clay, bauxite, silica and other mineral resources, the refractory material industry has become a dominant traditional industry in Zhengzhou. As the largest refractory industry base in China, Zhengzhou's refractory production accounts for over 60% of Henan Province and over 30% of the country, respectively.
At present, there are over 700 refractory enterprises in the city, mainly concentrated in Xinmi, Gongyi, Dengfeng and other districts and counties (cities). Among them, there are about 300 enterprises above the designated size, and their products are mainly high-end refractory raw materials such as aluminum silicon series and fused magnesium aluminum spinel, covering 9 categories such as steel, cement, non-ferrous metals, glass, and petrochemical, with over 500 varieties of various refractory materials. In 2022, the refractory industry in the city produced 4.6215 million tons of refractory products, achieving an output value of 36.972 billion yuan.
Like other traditional industries, the refractory industry is also facing the problem of transformation, upgrading and development. In recent years, Zhengzhou has strengthened the cultivation of leading enterprises, built innovation platforms, and promoted the high-quality development of the city's refractory industry through measures such as environmental protection governance and technological transformation.
Building a platform to enhance innovation capabilities
The key to high-quality development of industries is the ability to innovate in science and technology.
Zhengzhou actively builds various talent innovation platforms for the refractory industry. Promote the construction of 58 Zhengzhou municipal level technology innovation platforms, 11 provincial-level enterprise technology innovation platforms, and 18 provincial-level engineering technology research centers to assist in industrial technology innovation.
Promote the innovative development of enterprises, encourage and guide them to enhance their technological innovation capabilities. The proportion of special high-purity and corrosion-resistant new refractory materials and special functional refractory materials in the city has significantly increased, with medium to high-end refractory materials accounting for 47%. The products are exported to dozens of countries and regions such as the United States, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, etc. At present, Zhengzhou Refractory Industry has 126 national high-tech enterprises, 6 national "specialized, refined, and new" small giant enterprises, and has obtained 250 national patent products, 33 provincial high-quality products, and 6 provincial famous trademarks.
Industrial development is driven by leading enterprises. Zhengzhou attaches great importance to the cultivation of leading enterprises, and a number of key enterprises have emerged in the city, including Zhengzhou Ruitai, Zhendong Technology, Annike, Yuxing Hot Air Stove, Huawei Refractory, Jianxin Refractory, New Light Color, and Gongyi Tongda Zhongyuan, Wunai, Chunsheng Refractory, Zhulin Refractory, Huaxi Refractory.
